Update: Tickets now available for Carleton Ravens-Binghamton Senators men’s hockey exhibition

Written by Taylor Prichard, Sports Information

The 2015-16 Carleton Ravens men’s hockey team will host the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL) in a highly-anticipated showdown on September 28th at Carleton University’s Ice House.

The Binghamton Senators (Binghamton, NY) are the Ottawa Senators’ farm team and the squad is comprised of talented prospects and draft picks. The B-Sens finished last season with 34 wins, 34 losses, 7 overtime losses and 1 shootout loss, and missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

Binghamton is coached by former Ottawa Senators defenceman, Luke Richardson, who played 21 seasons in the NHL before retiring as a member of his home-town team after the 2008-2009 season. He was named Binghamton’s coach in May 2012 after spending three seasons as an assistant coach with the Ottawa Senators.

Current Ottawa Senators goalie Andrew Hammond, affectionately known as “The Hamburglar” for his regular season heroics in guiding Ottawa to the 2015 postseason, played 25 games with Binghamton last season before being called up to the NHL.
