Ottawa, Ont. (Aug. 29, 2025) — Adam Ross opened the scoring and Xavier-Etienne Patry added a brace as the Carleton Ravens men's soccer team kicked off their 2025 season with a commanding 4-0 win over RMC.
After a methodical start, Carleton’s pressure finally tipped the scales late in the first half. RMC goalkeeper Finn Gregoire committed a costly error, sliding aggressively outside the box in an attempt to break up a Ravens chance. The challenge earned him a red card. First-year Raven Adam Ross stepped up to take the ensuing free kick and made no mistake, curling the ball around the wall and into the bottom corner. The former Atlético Ottawa player gave Carleton a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Ravens broke the game open in the second half. Patry and second-year midfielder Marek Achadinha scored five minutes apart, extending the lead and putting the match out of reach. Carleton’s relentless pressure appeared to wear down RMC, who saw Maximilien Georges Walter Kasowski and Daniel Lee booked shortly after the third goal.
Damiano Totten capped off the afternoon with a fourth goal just before the final whistle, sealing the 4-0 victory.
Carleton now hits the road for a Sunday afternoon matchup against the Toronto Varsity Blues at Varsity Stadium in downtown Toronto. The Ravens return home on September 6 and 7 to host their northern rivals, Laurentian and Nipissing.
