The Carleton Ravens settled for a pair of draws over the weekend dropping after Laurentian and Nipissing each scored late goals to draw level.
After earning a late draw at Toronto last weekend, the Ravens fell behind Laurentian on Saturday afternoon when Jaiden Santo opened the scoring in the 29th minute. Jaeden Mercure would draw the Ravens level in the 38th minute and the game would remain deadlocked through the half.
The Ravens would pepper Nate Shull in the second half but couldn’t beat the visiting keeper until the 85th minute. John Aldiban’s go ahead goal failed to hold for long as Braxton Ragogna drew the Voyageurs level in the 88th minute to earn the draw.
It appeared the Ravens had rebounded well on Sunday when Caden Tomy set up John Aldiban for his second in as many days, but a methodical first-half from the Lakers ground the Ravens momentum to a halt.
After not generating a shot in the first half, Nipissing began to push in the second half. After finally shifting the field and the pressure, Kojo Mensah knocked home a low cross from Christiano Alagna in the 78th minute to draw level.
Despite the Lakers earning five yellow cards, including two team yellows, Carleton couldn’t take advantage of the volatile afternoon on the pitch and came away with their third consecutive draw.
The Ravens travel to face Ontario Tech (2-2) next weekend. The Ravens host Trent on September 26 in their next home game.
