Quebec City, QC (Sept. 13, 2025) - The Carleton Ravens women's rugby team suffered their second loss of the season on Saturday, falling 47-3 to the Laval Rouge et Or.
Carleton was in the fight right from the very start, exchanging long-phased attacks with the perennial RSEQ favourite. After a solid fifteen minutes of back-and-forth rugby, the game turned chaotic as a long kicking battle broke out. The game would settle with cards and injuries slowing down the middle of the half before Laval opened the scoring in the 31st minute.
The Rouge et Or would quickly score three more tries in extra time to take a 28-0 lead into the half.
After Laval extended the lead to 40-0 in the second half, Zoe Nield nailed a long penalty to put Carleton on the board in the 55th minute. Laval would add seven more in the half to close out the Ravens' visit.
Carleton now returns home to host Sherbrooke on Saturday, September 20, at 1:00 pm. The game is the team's Red Game, featuring $2 student tickets. Before the game, the team will honour its graduating players.
