Lennoxville, QC (September 26, 2025) - The Carleton Ravens women's rugby team shut the door on Bishop's playoff chances Friday night, with a 29-12 victory.
Sierra Hasse was a force for Carleton, scoring four times in the contest, while Claire Vandesande added another. Zoe Nield had two converts for the Ravens as they improved to 3-2.
Carleton didn't make things easy on themselves in the first half. The Ravens and Gaiters traded points several times with Bishop's pushing hard, before back-to-back tries gave Carleton the edge. After a gruelling 40 minutes, Carleton led 19-12 at the break.
After finding their scoring touch last weekend against Sherbrooke, Carleton once again relied on their pack to do the work, grinding the game to a slower pace that allowed them to keep Bishop's off the board in the second half. Carleton would add two scores in the half to earn their bonus point while ensuring Bishop's made up no ground of their own.
The Ravens enter the final week of the regular season in an all-out brawl for the final playoff spot. Carleton trails both Concordia and Montreal, each also 3-2, by a point in the RSEQ standings. The Ravens face the Gee-Gees Friday night at Matt Anthony Field with an opportunity to put pressure on Montreal and Concordia. The Citadins will head on the road to Laval while the Stingers host Sherbrooke.
With four tries on Friday, Sierra Hasse is now fourth in all-time tries by a Raven with 14. She is only a single try behind Vanessa Chiappetta in third.
Hasse's 10 tries this season tie her with Maya Addai's 2022 total as the fifth most ever recorded by a Raven in a single season. She currently sits tied for the RSEQ lead with 10 tries, and her 50 points are tied for second in league scoring.
With 14 conversions, Zoe Nield is one behind Roberta Drummond (2021) and Bailey Dean (2016) for fourth most in a season by a Raven. Nield passed Jessica Harvey (2021) on Friday for sixth place. Ravens assistant coach Jessica Joubarne holds the record with 29 conversions in 2018.
