The Carleton Ravens men's soccer team will enter the 2025 OUA Playoffs as the OUA East third-seed after earning a draw and taking their first loss of the season this weekend.
The Ravens fell behind the TMU Bold late in the first half Friday night, but earned a point when a Brady Curkovic headed smacked off the back of Luke Harrop for the big Brit's first as a Raven. Harrop was making his Ravens debut after sitting out the first half of the season, after transferring from Algoma last season.
On Sunday, with some Ravens sitting out with two yellow cards, the Queen's Gaels struck quickly, scoring twice in the opening 20 minutes to jump all over Carleton. The sleepy Ravens woke up to find themselves in a physical battle. Mohammed Bouzidi would score from the penalty spot in the 27th minute, but couldn't find another in a chippy affair.
The Ravens and Gaels combined for only 10 shots on goal, but accumulated 36 combined fouls.
The Ravens will need to leverage the physical nature of Sunday's contest as they head into the playoffs. With a 6-1-5 record, the Ravens host the 6-5-1 Trent Excallibur on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 8:15 PM. Tickets to Wednesday's game also include the women's first-round contest against the Ottawa Gee-Gees at 6:00 PM.
