(October 28, 2025) - The Carleton Ravens picked up a split of their weekend road trip to Toronto. Carleton opened the weekend with a 3-2 overtime win over Ontario Tech before falling 2-1 to Toronto on Saturday evening.
Ontario Tech opened the scoring midway through the first period, but the Ravens never let up, outshooting the Ridgebacks 10-7, thanks in part to two power plays. Still trailing midway through the second, Payton Miller unloaded a shot through traffic that found the back of the net, tying up the game through forty minutes.
Lanie Guimond gave Carleton a late lead with just under seven minutes to play when she walked into a loose puck in the slot, hammering it far side past Zoe McGee to take the lead. Unfortunately for the Ravens, the lead held for less than two minutes before Ella Dickson got her first of the year to force overtime.
Midway through the extra frame, it was Miller again finding the back of net. Miller's second of the year, this time from Kay and Vickers would provide the Ravens their first win of the year.
The Ravens hoped to ride that momentum on Saturday evening when they ventured into Toronto to face the Varsity Blues. Carleton unfortunately started slow, relying on the fantastic play of Kaitlyn Langille to weather an early Varsity Blues storm. Outshot 21-7 in the first, Carleton wasn't out of the game at all, locked in a scoreless tie after twenty minutes.
The second period balanced out, with Carleton finding their pace and opening the scoring. Cutting behind the net, Vicky Kay made a fantastic backhand centring pass to Hayden Serniuk, who scored her second of the year. Carleton would hold the lead for only seconds as Abby Whitworth and Jasmine Comeau would set up Christina Alexiou to even the score.
Before the period was out, Whitworth would strike again, this time scoring a goal of her own to make it 2-1.
The Ravens battled hard in the third but were unable to make an early power play count as Jillian Matthews made seven third-period saves to preserve the Varsity Blues victory.
The Ravens return home for a pair of games to wrap up October and kick off November. Carleton hosts York on Friday night before welcoming friends and family for their annual Alumni Night on Saturday. Saturday's game is also a Future Flock event, featuring a kids zone, activities and 50% off youth tickets.
