Carleton Ravens men's basketball alumni Kaza Kajami-Keane and Thomas Scrubb are among the veteran leaders named to Canada Basketball's 14-athlete training camp roster ahead of the opening window of FIBA Men's World Cup 2027 Qualifiers.
Kajami-Keane brings 10 games of international experience to the Canada camp, having most recently donned the red and white at the 2023-24 Americup Qualifiers. In his ninth year pro, Kajami-Keane is averaging 4.8 points per game through his first four games with Niners Chemnitz in the Bundesliga. In two years at Carleton, Kajami-Keane won back-to-back U SPORTS Championships, earning the Jack Donohue Trophy as the 2017 U SPORTS Final 8 MVP.
Thomas Scrubb is a Canada Basketball regular, having played 21 international games over three qualifying tournaments and an appearance at the 2019-20 World Cup. In the 2022-23 World Cup qualifying tournament, Scrubb averaged 8.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. In five active seasons at Carleton, Thomas was a five-time national champion and three-time OUA champion. He was twice named U SPORTS Defensive Player of the Year in 2014 and 2015. Thomas was also named the 2013 winner of the Jack Donohue Trophy and earned the Kitch MacPherson Trophy as OUA Wilson Cup MVP on two occasions.
Scrubbs' professional career began in Finland in 2015 and has taken him across the globe with stops in Germany, Italy, France and now Spain, where he plays for Tenerife with Ravens alumni Aaron Doornekamp.
