Ottawa, Ont. (Nov. 1, 2025) - The Carleton Ravens men's hockey team split their weekend tour through Quebec.
Things didn't go as planned for Carleton on Friday night, as they lost 5-1 at UQTR. The Ravens fell behind quickly with the Patriotes scoring all five of their goals in the opening frame.
The Pats scored three times in just under three minutes to jump all over the Ravens early. Zach Gravel and veteran Conor Frenette each scored late in the period to establish a sizeable lead.
Carleton would get one back in the second when Felix Bedard scored his third of the year, but it was all the Ravens could muster.
It was a much more defensive effort on Saturday as Carleton shut out Concordia 2-0. Nick McCarry played hero midway through the second period, scoring his fifth of the year. Felix Bedard would push a James Mayotte blocked shot to the wing, where McCarry made no mistake, snapping one past Joel Vrbetic. Notching his fifth of the year, McCarry's goal, bolstered by an Alex Johnston empty-netter, would do it all for the Ravens.
The story of the night was goaltending, with the Ravens' lone goal being enough thanks to the stellar play of Dylan Meilun. The transfer earned the first star with his second consecutive win, making 40 saves for his first OUA shutout.
The Ravens will remain on the road this weekend to face McGill and RMC before returning home on November 15 and 16.
