Ottawa, Ont. (Nov. 11, 2025) - U SPORTS and the Carleton Ravens are proud to announce the women’s basketball roster that will represent Canada at the Brasília 2025 FISU University World Cup 3x3 Basketball to be held in Brasilia, Brazil, November 14-16, 2025. The Ravens are looking to defend their 2024 World Cup silver medal after securing qualification for the World Cup by winning the FISU America tournament held in Brasilia this spring.
This is the second consecutive year the Carleton Ravens will don Canada’s colours at the World Cup. The team has participated in four straight FISU 3x3 competitions, winning back-to-back FISU America championships in 2024 and 2025.
“To be able to play against the top universities in a 3x3 setting is an exciting opportunity,” shared returning player Tatyanna Burke. “Knowing the toughness and skill we are about to face fuels us, and like always, we are coming to show what we can do and achieve the best result.”
Burke (Winona, Ont.) is one of two returning members of the squad that won the regional tournament in May, along with Dorcas Buisa (Gatineau, Que.). Rounding out the Ravens line-up are guards Noelle Kilbreath (Calgary, Alta.) and Ingrid Matteau (Gatineau, Que.). All four players were members of the Ravens 2025 U SPORTS silver medal-winning team.
Burke and Buisa bring significant championship experience, each with two OUA titles and two U SPORTS championships. Buisa was also a member of the 2024 FISU America championship team, making this her third tournament. Matteau was also a member of the 2024 OUA and U SPORTS championship team. Kilbreath transferred to Carleton for graduate studies after playing four seasons at MacEwan University, where she was top five all-time in program scoring.
The Ravens have been drawn into Group C of the 12-team tournament, and will play their two pool games on Friday, Nov. 14. They start play at 9:50 a.m. (all times Eastern), against Payame Noor University of Iran and follow that up at 12:25 p.m. against the University of Valencia. The other game in the group, between Payame Noor and Valencia, is set for 2:15 p.m.
If the Ravens finish second or third in the group, they would play in a Round of 16 game on Friday at either 3:40 p.m. or 4:05 p.m.
Should the Ravens finish first, they would advance directly to the quarterfinals, which are set for Sunday, Nov. 16, between 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. The semifinals are set for 1:30 p.m. and 1:55 p.m. that day, with the bronze medal game following at 3:20 p.m. and the championship tipping off at 4:10 p.m.
