Montreal, Que. (November 3, 2025) - The Carleton Ravens women's rowing team continue to make history over the weekend as Rosie O'Brien and Hayley Murray captured bronze at the Canadian University Rowing Championships in Montreal.
The medals mark the first time in 11 years that the Ravens had reached a national rowing podium. On the women's side, O'Brien and Murray broke a 25-year drought since a Carleton woman had last reached the podium.
Racing in the Olympic Basin, O'Brien and Murray finished third in the women's lightweight doubles event, making a jump back onto the podium after narrowly finishing fourth at the OUA Championships.
Continuing her otherworldly season, Rosie O'Brien surged back in the women's lightweight singles to capture bronze. O'Brien had been sixth in qualifying and improved her time by nine seconds in the finals.
Carleton Ravens legendary coach Ed Fournier was honoured at the awards banquet. Fournier was presented with the Coaching Builder of the Year Award.
