The Carleton Ravens will look to close out the first month of 2026 with key home events as basketball and women's hockey open the weekend.
It's Shoot for the Cure in the Nest on Friday, so put on your favourite pink and help the Ravens women's basketball team raise critical funds to support the Canadian Cancer Society. Be sure to visit the raffle table for your chance to win great prizes, including tickets to the Capital Hoops Classic.
On the court, the action promises to be intense as the Ravens will look to turn another week of hard work into positive results when they host the Lakehead Thunderwolves. In the 6:00 PM women's game, the Ravens welcome Lakehead (6-10) with a chance to close the gap on a first-round bye. Carleton is currently two games back of Windsor for the fourth seed in the OUA.
On the men's side, the Ravens could take a stranglehold on the OUA East lead if they can drop the 10-6 Thunderwolves. Lakehead had a win their last time out, an 87-60 drubbing of Laurentian, after falling 86-84 to Nipissing last Friday.

The Ravens women's hockey team opens a busy weekend at the Advanced Capital Ice House when they host Brock (11-7-0-2) on Friday. This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season before a return matchup to wrap up the schedule on February 14. The Ravens went 0-2 against Brock in 2024-25, including a 3-2 shootout loss in their last meeting on November 9, 2024.
On Saturday, the Ravens welcome Western. The Mustangs' Kate Suitor was the hero when the two teams met in November, beating Kaitlyn Langille in overtime for the 2-1 win. Carleton will look gain a split of the season series, as they did in 2024-25.
Men's hockey will close out the weekend on Sunday night when they welcome McGill (12-7-2-1). The Ravens begin a challenging final five-game stretch with a trip to UQTR (17-5-1) on Friday night, followed by Sunday's tilt with the Redbirds.
The Pats are 7-2-1 in their last ten, but enter the contest off a loss to the red-hot Concordia Stingers. The Ravens do trail the season series 2-1, but won the most recent contest, beating UQTR 3-2 on January 11.
Until Saturday night, the Ravens had strung together a four-game win streak after their last matchup against McGill on January 9. Carleton played well at McConnell Arena but came away with a 4-2 loss with Thomas Belzile's power-play goal 4:17 into the third standing up as the game winner.
