Coming off a highly successful weekend, Ravens men's hockey has a pair of critical matchups in their playoff race. Friday night, Carleton welcomes Ontario Tech (12-8), who sit 5 points ahead of Carleton in fourth. The Ravens are 0-2 against the Ridgebacks, having dropped a pair of one-goal games back in October. Winners of three straight, the Ravens will look to extend their win streak and close the gap on Nipissing, who are two points ahead.
On Saturday, the Ravens will return to action when they host Queen's. The Gaels are one point ahead of the Ravens in the playoff race and have beaten Carleton three times this season, including a 6-2 win at the Memorial Centre in November.
The Ravens made up a lot of ground over the weekend, picking up a Friday night win over Nipissing before coming from behind to beat RMC in overtime. The Ravens' top line came through in a big way over the weekend with Alex Johnston and Felix Bedard scoring third-period goals as Carleton clawed back to force overtime against RMC. Nick McCarry capped off a phenomenal five-point weekend with the game-winning goal. Recently passing 100 games played, McCarry, along with Johnston and Majid Kaddoura, has nine points during his six-game point-scoring streak.
Ravens rookie David Fournier continues to lead the OUA in power-play points. Scoring his fourth goal with the man advantage, Fournier now has 10 power-play points. Ravens goaltender Dylan Meilun continues to handle the load. The veteran transfer made 37 saves on Friday night before turning aside 26 of 29 against RMC to improve to 7-6.
