Kingston, Ont. (Feb. 25, 2026) - The Carleton Ravens women's basketball team will play for their third consecutive Critelli Cup after knocking off the number one seed Queen's Gaels 61-54 on Wednesday night.
The Ravens took over in the paint in the first quarter, out-rebounding the Gaels 12-7 as they built a 17-15 lead. Abany Deng was a force in the paint in the opening quarter with four rebounds and five points.
The Ravens built up a seven-point lead by the half, led in large part by nine points off the bench from Catherine Oliver. Despite losing the rebounding battle 7-10, Carleton held Gaels standout transfer Kiyara Letlow to 3 points in the second as they pulled ahead.
Classic Ravens defence was on full display in the third, holding Queen's to 25% shooting at 4 for 16 from the field. With nine points and three rebounds from Kyana-Jade Poulin, the Ravens entered the fourth up 14.
Carleton was able to weather the storm in the fourth, showing depth and defensive tenacity, barely allowing Queen's to close the gap, and never fully letting them back into the contest. After Letlow made it an eight-point game in the final 2:10, the Ravens locked it down, with Oliver, Poulin, and Jacqueline Urban making good from their trips before Tyanne Matosas-Adderley came away with a big steal with 14 seconds left to seal the ball game.
The Carleton Ravens will now head on the road to face the TMU Bold for the Critelli Cup on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
