2017 FISU Winter Universiade Report: Tuesday, January 31

ALMATY, KAZAKHSTAN — On the fourth day of FISU Winter Universiade competition, Carleton had two of its athletes representing Canada in skiing events.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

Carrington Pomeroy (Chelsea, QC) of Ravens Nordic skiing took part in the Men’s 10 km Pursuit Free event, topping his 57th place finish in the 10 km individual race on Monday with a 48th place result on Tuesday. Pomeroy had the second-best time of any Canadian, clocking in at 32:13.7.

ALPINE SKIING

Hannah Schmidt (Dubrobin, ON) competed on the slopes for a second consecutive day, this time taking part in the Ladies’ Alpine Combined Slalom event. Schmidt followed up Monday’s 18th place performance in the Super G race with a 13th place result on Tuesday, finishing in a time of 1:00.39.
