Nick Gorgichuk (Football) The first year quarterback threw for 288 yards on Friday night in a 48-12 loss to the No.4 Guelph Gryphons. Gorgichuk (Ottawa, ON) completed 23 of 38 attempts and registered his first CIS touchdown pass after hooking up with Dexter Brown (Sherwood Park, AB) on an exciting 49 catch and run play in the second quarter to make the score 10-10.
Women's Soccer
Abby Nicastro (Women’s soccer) The second year forward scored twice in Carleton’s historic 4-1 win over Ottawa on Saturday afternoon. The criminology major scored the first goal of the game for Carleton and was successful on a penalty kick early in the second half to give the Ravens a 2-1 lead. Nicastro’s second strike ended up being the winning tally. Until Saturday’s victory, the Ravens had never beaten the Gee-Gees in women’s soccer. In 41 games between the two teams which dates back to 1994, Carleton had 33 losses and 8 ties.
