Week Ending August 27, 2017
Carleton Ravens men’s soccer player Stefan Karajovanovic is this week’s TSN 1200 Male Athlete of the Week.
It was a dream debut weekend for the first-year forward, who scored four goals to go along with two assists in his first two university games. Despite not getting on the scoresheet in Carleton’s 2-0 win over UOIT on August 26, Karajovanovic had an electrifying performance in his team’s 11-0 win over the Trent Excalibur.
The rookie’s four strikes tied a Ravens single-game record and with an additional two assists in the blowout victory over Trent, Karajovanovic leads the conference and country in scoring with six points after two fixtures.
Karajovanovic, a native of Gatineau, QC, is enrolled in Carleton’s Criminology and Criminal Justice program.
Carleton Ravens women’s soccer player Paige Boyle is this week’s TSN 1200 Female Athlete of the Week.
Boyle made an immediate impact in her Carleton debut over the weekend, playing with the composure of a veteran on the pitch over two fixtures. The first-year defender started both of the Ravens’ games, playing a significant number of minutes in the two matches.
In Sunday’s 6-2 win over Trent, Boyle scored the opening two goals against the Excalibur. Boyle’s brace came two minutes apart early in the first half, with both of her tallies – a volley and a header – coming inside the 18-yard box.
Boyle, who hails from Guelph, ON, will be studying Biology in her first year at Carleton.
