Week Ending January 18, 2016
Francis ‘Frank’ Dupuis (Ottawa, ON) had one of his best performances of the season in Carleton’s 6-3 victory over McGill on January 16 by stopping 29 of the Redmen’s 32 shots.
Dupuis has been a top netminder in the OUA this season as his 2.13 GAA ranks second in the conference. The fourth-year goalie has a 10-2-0 mark (.833 win %) in goal for the Ravens in 2015-16, and his play has been one of the major reasons for Carleton’s stellar defensive record through 19 games.
Frank is currently enrolled in Communications at Carleton University.
In her first university swim meet, Melinda Hubert (Bracebridge, ON) had a memorable debut performance for the Ravens at the University of Ottawa’s GO Polar Plunge event this past weekend.
Hubert finished first in the 400m Freestyle in a time of 4:42.01 – a personal best by nearly 2 seconds and a Carleton University record. Her time eclipses the former record of Paola Osorio set in 2004.
Hubert also finished third in the 100m Butterfly with a time of 1:09.27, placing her second on Carleton’s All-Time Top 20.
Melinda is a first-year engineering student at Carleton.
