Carleton Ravens men’s basketball player Stanley Mayambo is this week’s TSN 1200 Male Athlete of the Week.

The Ravens hosted their final regular season games of the 2017-18 season over the weekend, where the third-year guard hit double figures in scoring in both of Carleton’s wins over York and Queen’s.

In Carleton’s 87-57 victory over York on February 16, Mayambo posted 11 points (4-9 FG) and five rebounds. The next night, the 6-foot-1 sharpshooter scored 11 points (3-5 3PT FG) on an efficient shooting night from the floor, contributing seven rebounds while playing a game-high 27 minutes in the Ravens’ 97-52 triumph over the Gaels.

Stanley, a native of Fredericton, NB, is studying Health Sciences at Carleton.

Madelyn Krasnay

Carleton Ravens women’s fencer Madelyn Krasnay is this week’s TSN 1200 Female Athlete of the Week.

The Ravens hosted the 2018 OUA Women’s Fencing Championship from February 17-18 at Norm Fenn Gym, where Krasnay was one of Carleton’s top performers over the course of the two-day event.

In Saturday’s individual events, Krasnay finished in 10th place out of 38 participants in the Sabre competition. On Sunday, the third-year fencer spearheaded the Ravens’ Sabre relay team, where Carleton narrowly missed out on a top-three finish with a 4th place result, falling in the bronze medal match against Queen’s.

Madelyn, a native of Oshawa, ON, is pursuing an Engineering degree at Carleton.
