Carleton Ravens men’s Nordic skier Aidan Kirkham is this week’s TSN 1200 Male Athlete of the Week.

Kirkham, a sophomore, helped the men’s team earn a bronze medal at the 2018 OUA Nordic Skiing Championships in Thunder Bay, ON. The second-year Raven won the men’s individual title, and was named an OUA All-Star for the second consecutive championship

Kirkham got off to a flying start on Day 1, capturing first place in the Men’s 10km Classic Interval. On Day 2 of the championship, Kirkham, along with teammates Ezra Pierce and Brendon Howard, finished in third place in the Men’s Relay Classic 3x3km. The last day saw Kirkham complete the 15km Mass Start Free race in fourth, just 12.7 seconds back of first.

Aidan, a native of Kanata, ON, is studying Environmental Science at Carleton.

Carleton Ravens women’s Nordic skier Zoë Williams is this week’s TSN 1200 Female Athlete of the Week.

Williams, a junior, had a sensational weekend at the 2018 OUA Nordic Skiing Championships, leading the Ravens to a third straight conference title while also being named the women’s individual overall champion and an OUA All-Star.

Williams exploded out of the gate on Day 1, winning the 5km Classic Interval Start by 50.2 seconds. The following day, the third-year skier led the Ravens to a first-place finish in the Women’s Classic Relay alongside teammates Alyssa Stowe and Emily Jones. Williams continued her pursuit of excellence on Day 3, winning the 10km Mass Free Start to complete an impressive weekend treble.

Zoë, a native of Cantley, QC, is enroled in the Neuroscience and Mental Health program at Carleton.
