Week Ending February 28, 2016
Francis ‘Frank’ Dupuis (Ottawa, ON) is this week’s TSN 1200 Carleton University Male Athlete of the Week.
Dupuis backstopped Carleton to a two-game series sweep of McGill, giving the men’s hockey team its first playoff series win over the Redmen in program history.
Dupuis’ sensational 28-save effort in Game 1 helped provide the Ravens with a 5-2 road victory and control of the OUA East semi-final. The fourth-year goaltender was also providing offence for Carleton as he added an assist on Corey Durocher’s empty-net goal in the third period. Back at the Ice House for Game 2, Dupuis was given his second consecutive start, proving to be the right man for the job. The experienced netminder made 35 saves – several of the unbelievable variety – in the Ravens’ 3-2 overtime triumph to help them clinch a spot in the OUA East finals.
Dupuis’ playoff numbers through three games (3-0) have been stellar; his 1.29 GAA and .957 SV% both rank first among OUA playoff goalies.
Frank is enrolled in the Communications program at Carleton.
