Carleton Ravens men’s hockey defenceman, Brad Albert, played a big role in helping his team pick up an important three points on the road this weekend. His impressive performance on the blue-line shutdown the McGill Redmen’s offence on Friday night as the Ravens earned a point in a 1-0 shootout loss to the No. 2 nationally ranked team. On Saturday, Albert recorded an assist on Carleton’s first goal before getting a helper on what proved to be the game winner in a 5-4 victory over the Concordia Stingers. The Nepean, Ont. native now has 11 points in 20 games this season.
Women’s hockey goaltender, Tamber Tisdale, backstopped the Carleton Ravens to one of the biggest upsets of the season on Sunday as they defeated the No. 1 ranked McGill Martlets 4-3 in a shootout. The Red Deer, Alta. native made 32 of 35 saves in regulation against a McGill squad that has outscored its opponents 62-18 on the season. She continued her impressive play between the pipes in overtime and stopped five of six Martlets in the shootout for the win. Tisdale currently leads the RSEQ with a 0.929 save percentage.
