Carleton Ravens men’s basketball player Kaza Kajami-Keane is the TSN 1200 Male Athlete of the Week.
Kajami-Keane, a fifth-year guard and team co-captain, led by example in Carleton’s victories over No.2 uOttawa, Guelph and Lakehead last week. The 2015-16 Second-Team All-Canadian averaged 19 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists in his team’s three wins, helping the Ravens remain undefeated after twelve regular season games.
In a string of impressive performances, Kajami-Keane went for 10 points, six rebounds and two assists in Carleton’s 81-40 drubbing of the Gee-Gees, a statline of 20 points, three rebounds and three assists in a 90-54 landslide of the Gryphons, and a near triple double of 27 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in a 96-58 win over the Thunderwolves.
Kajami-Keane and the men’s basketball team will travel to face Windsor (January 27) and Western (January 28) this weekend.
Kaza, who hails from Ajax, ON, studies Communication and Media Studies at Carleton.
Carleton Ravens women’s basketball player Elizabeth Leblanc is the TSN 1200 Female Athlete of the Week.
Leblanc, a third-year forward, was a key figure in the Ravens’ three victories this past week, posting big numbers as her team extended its winning streak to 11 games.
The 6-foot OUA All-Star contributed six points, four rebounds and a block in a 57-50 win over the Gee-Gees at Montpetit Hall. In the next two matchups against Guelph and Lakehead, Leblanc poured in 20 points with a career-high four 3-point field goals, along with six rebounds and two blocks against the Gryphons, before lighting up the Thunderwolves with a season-high 22 points and six boards.
Leblanc and the Ravens head out on the road to take on No.6 Windsor (January 27) and the Western Mustangs (January 28) this weekend.
Elizabeth, a native of London, ON, is enrolled in Carleton’s Psychology program.
