Carleton Ravens men’s basketball guard, Philip Scrubb, helped his team improve to a perfect 10-0 this weekend, recording a combined 38 points, seven assists and eight rebounds. In Friday night’s 90-54 victory over the York Lions, he shot an impressive 71.4 per cent from the field and went on to finish with a game-high 17 points. He also recorded four rebounds and three assists in the win. He followed that with a 21-point performance in Saturday’s 98-51 win over the Laurentian Voyageurs. He went 8-for-10 from the field and 3-for-4 from three-point range. He also added four rebounds and assists. The Richmond, B.C. native is now sixth in OUA scoring with 17.3 points per game.
Fourth year women’s basketball guard, Alyson Bush, had an outstanding weekend for the No. 4 nationally ranked Carleton Ravens, scoring a combined 30 points and collecting nine steals and six rebounds. On Friday, she recorded a game-high 17 points and six steals in the Ravens 62-51 victory over the York Lions. She also grabbed three rebounds in the win. She led the Ravens again Saturday with a 13-point performance in Carleton’s 69-44 victory over the Laurentian Lady Vees. She also chipped in with four assists, three steals and three rebounds. She is currently ninth in the OUA with an average of 13.7 points per game and is third in steals with 3.2 per game.
