Week Ending November 5, 2017
Men's Hockey
Carleton Ravens men’s hockey player Josh Burnside is this week’s TSN 1200 Male Athlete of the Week.
Burnside, a second-year defenceman, was rock solid on Carleton’s blue line in two home wins over Nipissing (Nov. 3) and Laurentian (Nov. 4).
In Carleton’s 4-1 win over the Lakers on Friday, the former Mississauga Steelheads captain provided one helper.
The next day, Burnside registered a career-high three points in Carleton’s 6-0 shutout over the Voyageurs. Burnside recorded all three of his points on assists in the first period, as the Ravens would take a 3-0 lead after one and never look back on their way to victory.
Josh, a native of Brampton, ON, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at Carleton University.
Women's Basketball
Carleton Ravens women’s basketball player Heather Lindsay is this week’s TSN 1200 Female Athlete of the Week.
The Ravens began the 2017-18 OUA regular season with two wins thanks in large part to Lindsay’s contribution at both ends of the floor.
In Friday’s home opener against Guelph, the All-Canadian centre posted her first double-double of the campaign with 21 points and 10 rebounds to go along with two assists and two blocks in 18 minutes of floor time.
On Saturday versus Algoma, Lindsay nearly posted another double-double, finishing with nine points and eight rebounds in 23 minutes of action.
Heather, a native of Ottawa, ON, is working towards a Bachelor of Arts in Environment Studies at Carleton University.
