Aiden Warnholtz (Ottawa, Ont.) got the Ravens men’s basketball season off to a hot start during the McKeen Metro Glebe Home Opener Weekend. The 6’3″ guard shot 75% from beyond the arc while averaging 18.5 points and generating 6 steals. After 13 points, 2 assists and 3 steals on Friday night, Warnholtz took the Ravens to another level on Saturday evening scoring 24 points, including going 7 for 9 from the field while collecting 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and a block.
In storybook fashion, Ravens fifth-year co-captains Anastasia Bourka (Ottawa, Ont.) and Roberta Drummond (Belleville, Ont.) came together to make history on Sunday afternoon. Trailing by five in extra-time of overtime in the RSEQ Bronze Medal game, Bourka collected a pass at mid-field dummying a first would-be tackler before breaking three more tacklers on route to the game-tying try. The perfectly placed try allowed her co-captain, Drummond, to take a deep breath and complete her 19th successful conversion of the season for the thrilling come from behind victory.
