Week Ending October 15, 2017
Carleton Ravens football player Nathan Carter is this week’s TSN 1200 Male Athlete of the Week.
Carter, a running back, continued his stellar 2017 form with a dynamic offensive performance in the Ravens’ 43-0 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues on October 14.
The 5-foot-8 tailback rushed for 183 yards on only 14 carries for an average of 13.1 yards per play. Carter, a former St. Patrick’s Fighting Irish standout, tallied three rushing touchdowns, including an 81-yard scamper to pay dirt in the second quarter.
However, the most impressive part of Carter’s performance against the Varsity Blues was the fact that he registered these totals without taking a single carry in the second half of the Ravens’ win.
Nathan, who hails from the nation’s capital, is pursuing a Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies from Carleton.
Carleton Ravens women’s golfer Chloe Wilson is this week’s TSN 1200 Female Athlete of the Week.
Wilson, a first-year Raven, had a fantastic weekend at the 2017 OUA Golf Championship (October 14-15), finishing the two-day tournament tied in eighth place overall with a score of +21.
Wilson had a sensational opening round at Loch March Golf and Country Club, shooting a 78 on day one, which included a pair of birdies on the front nine to place her in fourth heading into round two.
The talented rookie’s final aggregate score of 165 would see her finish tied with the 2016 OUA women’s champion, and help her earn a 2017 OUA Second-Team All-Star award.
Chloe, a native of Carleton Place, ON, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts, in Criminology and Criminal Justice at Carleton.
