Week Ending October 9, 2016
Ravens football player Leon Cenerini (La Salle, MB) is the TSN 1200 Male Athlete of the Week.
Cenerini, a fourth-year middle linebacker, had a game-high 9.5 tackles (6 solo, 7 assisted) in Carleton’s 53-10 win over the Windsor Lancers on October 7.
His dominance in the middle of the field helped the Ravens defence hold Windsor to only 272 yards of offensive production – the Lancers’ lowest output of the season.
The Ravens’ standout defensive captain has started all seven games this season and leads the team with 56.5 tackles in 2016. He has topped the team in tackles in five of Carleton’s seven games.
Leon is studying in Carleton’s Criminology and Criminal Justice program.
Ravens women’s soccer player Sarah Zutrauen (Ottawa, ON) is the TSN 1200 Female Athlete of the Week.
Zutrauen, a second-year defender, scored the game-tying goal in a 1-1 draw with the Ottawa Gee-Gees (CIS No.3) in the team’s final regular season home game at MNP Park.
The talented defender, who has found success in the sweeper position in recent weeks, headed home the equalizer against the Gee-Gees in the 82nd minute to help her team earn a late point.
Zutrauen contributed in the defensive third as well by providing support in front of Carleton’s back four and limiting the Gee-Gees’ potent offence to only one goal.
Sarah is enrolled in Biomedical Sciences at Carleton.
