Week Ending September 12, 2016
Carleton Ravens football player, Nate Behar, is this week’s TSN 1200 Male Athlete of the Week.
The veteran wide receiver racked up 129 receiving yards on eight catches against the Toronto Varsity Blues in his team’s 65-7 win on September 10. Behar hauled in three touchdowns against Toronto, which tied his single game career-high set back in the 2014 Panda Game against the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
Now in his fourth season with the team, Behar reached two major milestones on the weekend, including setting the new Carleton record for most catches (136) in a career, as well as eclipsing 2000 receiving yards to become the first Ravens football player to reach that milestone.
Nate, a native of London, ON, studies Communication at Carleton.
Carleton Ravens rugby player, Bailey Dean, is this week’s TSN 1200 Female Athlete of the Week.
Dean, a third-year student-athlete, was one of the top performers in the Ravens’ 50-5 win over McGill on September 11. The 5-foot-11 flanker tallied 15 points in the game, including a first-half try to go along with a career-high five conversions.
With nine conversion through two games in 2016, Dean currently holds the program record for most conversions in a career with 21.
It was Carleton rugby’s first win over the Martlets in the team’s five-year varsity history.
Bailey, a product of Oakville, ON, is enrolled in Carleton’s Neuroscience program.
