Andrew Bryan (Montreal, QC), Carleton’s 4th year senior forward, had a terrific debut for the men’s soccer team on the weekend with a pair of standout performances.
In his team’s two victories over UOIT (3-0) and Trent (3-1), Bryan scored two goals and provided the Ravens with a constant threat at the top of the formation.
A former CIS Second Team All-Canadian, Bryan netted both of his tallies against UOIT to help his team defeat a tough Ridgebacks squad.
Bryan continued his stellar play against Trent as he used his physical tools to outwork his opponents for loose balls and by maintaining possession in tight pockets within the 18-yard box.
He has been a great addition to Sandy Mackie’s team.
Bryan is a studying General Arts at Carleton.
Elizabeth (Liz) MacDougall (Carleton Place, ON) had an excellent weekend in net for the Ravens as she went 1-1 with only two goals conceded in the two games.
Carleton lost to UOIT 1-0, but MacDougall stood on her head to deny the Ridgebacks on countless opportunities, including a miraculous diving save early in the second half to keep the score tied at 0-0.
On Sunday, Liz was on the winning side of a 6-1 scoreline against Trent where she only allowed one goal all afternoon. The Carleton keeper denied the Excalibur attack from getting back into the game with her outstanding form. The 5th-year veteran demonstrated terrific leadership from the back end.
MacDougall played all 90 minutes in both games. Her performances over the two contests were equally impressive.
Liz is a student in the Multimedia and Design program at Carleton.
