Carleton Ravens football player Nathan Carter is this week’s TSN 1200 Male Athlete of the Week.
The sophomore running back was the star of the show in Carleton’s 45-43 setback to Waterloo on September 16, rushing for a Ravens’ single-game record of 274 yards against the Warriors on just 22 rushing attempts.
Carter shattered his previous single-game high of 103 yards from the 2016 season, while establishing a new Ravens’ benchmark in the process. The 5-foot-8, 180-pound tailback added two rushing touchdowns, including an 87-yard score, which is the third longest run from scrimmage in program history.
Nathan, a graduate of Ottawa’s St. Patrick’s High School, is enrolled in Communication Studies at Carleton University.
Carleton Ravens women’s soccer player Rada Mintchev is this week’s TSN 1200 Female Athlete of the Week.
Mintchev, the Ravens’ fifth-year goaltender, had a sensational performance in Carleton’s 2-1 defeat to U SPORTS No. 4 uOttawa on September 17 at MNP Park.
Despite taking the loss in goal, Mintchev tallied 10 saves on 12 shots, including several outstanding acrobatic diving stops to keep the Ravens in contention until the very end.
The 5-foot-6 keeper was named Carleton’s player of the game for her heroic effort between the sticks.
Rada, a graduate of St. Pius X High School in Ottawa, is an Environmental Studies major at Carleton University.
