Ravens kicker/punter Michael Domagala (St Catharines, ON) had an outstanding performance on the gridiron in Carleton’s 19-15 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday afternoon.
Domagala accounted for 13 of his team’s 19 points by connecting on all four of his field goal attempts and converting an extra point in his team’s win. He also added 340 yards in punting, with an 34-yard average per kick, and hammered three kickoffs for 64.3 yards per try.
The third-year player currently ranks 4th in the CIS in both points scored by a kicker (44) and field goal percentage (90%), placing him in the upper echelon of his peers.
Domagala was also named as the OUA Special Teams Player of the Week.
Michael is currently studying in the Criminology and Criminal Justice program at Carleton.
Ravens midfielder/forward Abby Nicastro (Ottawa, ON) put in two of her best performances of the season in her team’s weekend road trip in Northern Ontario.
Nicastro demonstrated fine pace up and down the wing, controlling the ball and attacking the opponent’s goal.
The fleet footed fourth-year winger gave the Nipissing and Laurentian defenders headaches with a consistent dose of skillful offensive moves while also defending her side of pitch well to balance out two impressive games.
While the team did not get the results it was looking for, Abby was twice chosen as the co-player of the game against the Voyageurs and Lakers.
Abby is a student in Carleton’s Criminology and Criminal Justice program.
