MONTREAL, QC — Carleton Ravens goaltender Katelyn Steele (Markham, ON) has been recognized by the RSEQ conference as this week’s Female Athlete of the Week.
Steele, a third-year student-athlete, played a sensational game in Carleton’s 2-1 victory over U Sports No. 6 Montreal on January 8. Although the Carabins broke Steele’s shutout with under 20 seconds to play in the game, the former Scarborough Shark made a career-high 52 stops in her team’s massive win.
With seven points in the standings, Carleton sits two points behind Concordia for the fourth and final playoff spot in the RSEQ division.
Steele’s heroics earned her Player of the Game honours and Carleton’s Female Athlete of the Week.
The Ravens play a crucial home date against the Ottawa Gee-Gees (Pink in the Rink Game) on January 13 at the Ice House. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
