Dante Cobisa scored in the 70th minute for the Ravens followed by Gabirel Bitar in the 88th for what turned out to be the game winning goal.

Head Coach Kwesi Loney says he was happy with the way his team handled the Voyaguers’ offense. “We absorbed a lot of pressure in the first half but we displayed composure and challenged every ball.”

Trusting the process is something Loney spoke of after their final preseason game and says he saw that out of his team today.

“Today was much improved as we didn’t panic when we didn’t score in the first half but showed determination to continue applying pressure, eventually leading to our first goal.” After a soggy afternoon affair in the rain, Loney knows his team will have to regroup quickly for their match against Nipissing tomorrow.

“I was not happy with us conceding a goal int he final minute of the game, so we still have a lot of work to do towards maintaining focus for the full 90 minutes. Tomorrow will be a different team and a different surface. We will reset, understanding today’s result will not help us tomorrow. We will also look to utilize our roster to ensure we are fresh for the 90 minutes.”

The Ravens will stay on the road when they face the Nipissing Lakers tomorrow afternoon.
