MWP | Ravens cruise past Gee-Gees into OUA semis

TORONTO, Ontario – The Carleton Ravens and McMaster Marauders each recorded victories on Day 1 of the 2018 OUA men’s water polo championship (Nov. 30) at the University of Toronto’s Varsity Pool.

Carleton topped the Ottawa Gee-Gees 18-2, while the Marauders defeated the Western Mustangs 13-7 to secure their spot in tomorrow’s semifinals. The Ravens will take on the No. 2 seeded Queen’s Gaels at 3 p.m., while the Marauders will face the top-seeded and host Toronto Varsity Blues at 4:15 p.m.

The Gee-Gees and Mustangs will battle for fifth place in the consolation final at 7:15 p.m., tomorrow.

Quarter-Final #1: Carleton 18, Ottawa 2

The Carleton Ravens saw 12 different players score on the night.

Malachi Leclerc led the way with a hat trick, while Sean Legg, Brian Major, Thomas Dalkowski and Louis-Philipe Brosseau each scored two. Martin Andrijasevic, Duncan Branda, Liam Dale, Luke Evans, Kevin Fox, Ahmed Gamaledin and Mihailo Krstic added single tallies in the victory.

Ethan Odger and Ahmed Abdelrehim scored one apiece for Ottawa in the loss.
