MISSISSAUGA, Ontario – On Sunday February 3, 2019 four Ravens Rowers competed at the Canadian Indoor Rowing Championships . The event was held at the Paramount Fines Foods Arena in Mississauga, Ontario.
Indoor rowing regattas require the participants to race on Concept2 rowing machines over a distance of 2000m. The performance monitors from each machine are linked so each competitor can see where they are positioned relative to each other during their race. Each participants pace and position is also displayed on the arena’s jumbo-tron so that spectators can see how the races are progressing.
Hunter Amesbury, Ben Koskowich and David Damas represented the Raven’s Rowing team. All three finished in the top ten of 23 participants in the under 23 catergory, with Amesbury finishing third and winning a bronze medal.
Neve McKay was the only woman rower to attend the event and she place in a strong 13th position out 37 entries in the U23 women’s category.
