SWIM | Ravens post personal best times and school records at OUA championships

TORONTO, Ontario – Despite not reaching the podium at the OUA championships, the Ravens swam to several personal best times and rearranged the Ravens varsity record book. Carleton placed 10th out of 11 teams, with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues taking first overall.

Finals Swims:

Mizuki Matsui: 7th in 200 breast (2:21.56) breaking Keegan Harris’ Varsity Record from 2004 (2:22.24)

Yazan Al Bawwab: 8th in 50 back (27.27, 26.86 in heats) putting him second on the all-time list behind J.M. Mills from 2004 (26.23)

Yazan Al Bawwab: 11th in 100 fly (57.25) putting him second on the all-time list behind Ken McDonald from 1999 (57.16)

Mizuki Matsui: 13th in 100 breast (1:05.26) putting him second on the all-time list behind Don Burton from 1993 (1:04.87)

Yazan Al Bawwab: 14th in 50 fly (26.07, 26.06 in heats) putting him third on the all-time list

Courtney Buchanan: 15th in 200 breast (2:51.02) putting her sixth on the all-time list

Courtney Buchanan: 16th in 100 breast (1:17.80) putting her in a tie for fifth on the all-time list

Mills, Keegan Harris, Trevor McLoughlin, and Brandon Crawford from 2004 (3:55.58), and Yazan’s 100 back (58.60) puts him second on the all-time list behind J.M. Mills from 2004 (58.21)

8th: men’s 4 x 200 free relay: Moustafa Kamel, Justin Kernot, Derek Woodard, Tomas Babkine-Di Caprio: 8:13.25
