GOLF | Ravens earn Golf Canada grant

Written by Carleton Sports Information

OTTAWA, Ontario – The Carleton Ravens golf team will soon have more financial support for its varsity program. The team was awarded a grant from the Golf Canada Foundation in the amount of $2,000.

The contribution was made to the team as award for their own fundraising efforts. Head coach Dave McBain says the $2,000 matched the team’s fundraising total and is significantly higher than in previous years. McBain says the extra funds will help cover some of the team’s training and travel expenses.

“The grant allows me to take more players to more tournaments this year. For example, all players are participating in tournaments in Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph. In the future, I hope we’ll be able to compete in a tournament in the United States.”
