KINGSTON, Ontario – The Carleton Ravens fought back from a deficit to defeat the RMC Paladins 2-1 for their first win of the season on Sunday afternoon.
“Today was a gritty effort from our team, we weren’t playing well and got down a goal early. The team showed incredible resilience and fought their way back into the game,” said Ravens Head Coach Dom Oliveri.
The Paladins took an early lead in the 15th minute on a goal by Emily Bucci.
Leah Chabot tied the game 12 minutes later on a goal assisted by Chloe Doherty. The Ravens continued to press, taking the lead just two minutes before halftime on a tally by Cheyenne Bent.
Momentum would swing the Ravens’ way in the second half, holding a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal. The half would stay scoreless en route to the Ravens notching their first win of the season.
“We need the same effort from our players next weekend. We’re a young team that is still learning how to be successful at this level. We need to learn from this weekend and take those lessons into our games next weekend,” added Oliveri.
The Carleton Ravens will host the Trent Excalibur in their next match on Saturday, September 28th at 8pm at MNP Park.
