Hedges picks up from where he left off from last year. In the Ravens playoff run to the OUA Bronze medal the Ottawa native picked up eight points in eight games.

The Golden Hawks opened the scoring with a goal halfway through the first period, but Carleton was able to respond quickly. After getting the puck on a turnover by the Golden Hawks, Ravens forward Cody Caron (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) fed Hedges in front for a nifty backhand shot up and over the goaltender, Matt Williams.

The Golden Hawks took the lead back minutes later when forward Will Cook found Anthony Conti wide open in front of the Ravens goal and he chipped the puck over the shoulder of Justin Nichols (St. Catharines, ON).

In the second period, the Ravens jumped out to a 3-2 lead with a power play strike from Hedges six minutes into the period and Jared Steege (Cobden, ON) scoring his first goal of the season with Ryker Cole (Moosomin, SK) and Hedges drawing assists.

With time nearly set to expire in the third period the Golden Hawks were throwing everything they had at the Ravens to try to even the game at 3.

Conti managed to redirect a slapshot from the point past Nichols to send the game to overtime with under 30 seconds left to play in regulation.

In overtime, Carleton defenceman Josh Burnside (Brampton, ON) found Hedges open in front of the Golden Hawks net for an easy tip into the wide-open net, as Williams was unable to get across the crease in time.

Nichols picks up his second win of the OUA season in his second start stopping 33 of 36 shots from the Golden Hawks.

Carleton jumps to out to a 4-0-0 record and currently hold the top spot in the OUA East, with the Gee-Gees being the only other unbeaten team in the OUA.

The Ravens look to try to stay hot when they return to the Ice House for the home opener against the reigning OUA silver medalist Guelph Gryphons.
