ST. CATHARINES, Ontario – Ravens rowing headed to Henley Island on October 12th for the annual Brock Invitational Regatta. The 2 km straight course featured high winds near the start and finish of the course. The morning started out with scattered showers causing some of the competitors to race their heats in the rain. The sky cleared but the high winds remained for the finals in the afternoon.
There were good results from the Ravens despite the bad weather. The Men’s Lightweight Eight came through the finish line in 2nd place with a time of 6:15.9 behind Brock University. The Women’s Lightweight pair fought for their 2nd place finish in 7:54.1, just 1 second behind Brock University. 3rd pace in the Men’s Lightweight pair went to Carleton with a time of 7:04.0 behind Brock University in 1st, and Western University in 2nd. The Ravens will train hard for the next two weeks leading up to the OUA finals on October 25-26.
