MONTREAL, Quebec – The Carleton Ravens women’s hockey team opened up their regular season at the CEPSUM arena with a 3-0 loss to the Montreal Carabins on Oct. 18.
“Coming off a successful pre-season, we didn’t play to our potential on Friday. That said, even when we weren’t at our best, we managed to keep the score tight for most of the game,” Ravens forward Jordyn Pimm said.
Early into the second period, Carabins forward Noemie Chiasson opened the scoring as she tipped the puck past Ravens goaltender Alexandra Lehmann.
Carabins forwards Alexandra Labelle and Joanie Garand would later get on the board to help propel their team to the win.
Throughout the game, Lehmann stopped 30 shots out of the 33 she faced on net.
“Lehmann has been putting in loads of work in and off the ice and it’s great to see her succeed in games. Despite the score, she really kept us in there. Montreal has some highly skilled forwards, and Lehmann was hard to beat,” Pimm said.
The Ravens will now look ahead to their home opener as they get set to face off against the Concordia University Stingers on Oct. 25.
“Leading into our home opener we’re going to be working on fine tuning the little details. We’ll work to create some positive energy leading into Friday,” Pimm said.
