Overview

The ‘Race for Good’ is an ‘Amazing Race’ style competition, where teams will complete challenges and puzzles at various locations in Ottawa. Individuals of all abilities are welcome and encouraged to apply! Being held on National Philanthropy Day (November 15, 2019 from approximately 8 am-2 pm), six pairs of FutureFunder champions will take on challenging tasks across the city in a race to win a grand prize of $10,000 towards their FutureFunder project. Second place will win $5,000 and third place will win $2,500 towards their initiative.

The women’s team is now taking the next step in player development and recruitment. The Ravens took the field for the first time in the fall of 1987 and have been a perennial OUA playoff contender ever since. In addition to many OUA final four appearances, the Ravens participated in two National Championships in 1995 and 2001.

Our women’s soccer alumni chapter goal is to create awareness for vital areas where alumni and fans can support the program whether it is through volunteering and/or philanthropy.  In addition, the chapter strives to create a feeling of goodwill towards the soccer program and use key events as an opportunity to welcome back our alumni to campus every year. We are excited about our direction as we build strong foundation of of dynamic young women to take our program into the future. We want to ensure we provide them the necessary resources from day one – to enhance their varsity experience and ensure future success of the program.

The Background

Our team has $8000 remaining in match that we hope to unlock on Giving Tuesday. This means that each donation made on December 3rd will have double the impact!

The Rollout

We reached our target last season, and will be participating in a full indoor regular season in the winter. This will have a positive impact on our player’s development over the offseason. Funding we look to secure at this time will go towards aligning our program with some of the newest technology and training methods as it pertains to game analytics, giving us an additional layer of support for our players. Technology has improved players ability to understand the games, and moments in which they impact the game. An enhanced analytical platform will give players access to real time statistics, as they become better students of the game.

The Impact

Your support will help our players be the best they can be both on and off the field! Your donations allow us to continue to ensure that our team is as accessible as possible, and reduces financial barriers so that those from all socioeconomic backgrounds may participate. We look forward to infusing our program with latest advancements in game analysis, to take our players and program to next level.
