OTTAWA, Ontario – The Carleton Ravens women’s basketball team has added new transfer Océane Kounkou from the NCAA’s University at Buffalo.
New Head Coach Dani Sinclair is excited to bring Kounkou into the lineup.
“Océane is a versatile player who can play and guard multiple positions. She comes to us from great programs and coaching and her skill set and athleticism will give us options offensively and defensively. Océane brings great passion and work ethic to her game and we are very happy to welcome her to the Ravens family.”
Kounkou grew up in Gatineau and played CEGEP basketball in Montreal before moving on to the NCAA. Being a local product, Kounkou says she has always dreamed of playing for the Ravens.
“I grew up a Ravens fan and I fell in love with the school’s winning culture at a young age. Carleton also offers a major in International Business which was exactly what I was looking for.”
With the announcement of Sinclair as the program’s new head coach, Kounkou says the decision to come to Carleton was easy. “It was the perfect fit for me and I am thrilled that Dani Sinclair has given me the opportunity to join her team.”
