OTTAWA, Ontario — Three Ravens have been selected in the Canada Premier League U SPORTS draft.

Veterans Cristopher Malekos, Stefan Karajovanovic, and Tony Mikhael were each chosen by premier league clubs, with Malekos going to Atletico Ottawa as the club’s first ever draft pick.

The Halifax Wanderers took Karajovanovic with the 7th pick in the 1st round. “We wanted to have a bit of variety in the penalty area,” said Manager Stephen Hart. “Someone who is a little more direct, who can make things happen with their dribbling. He certainly fits that profile.”

With the 6th pick In the 2nd round, Valour FC selected Tony Mikhael. Manager Rob Gale says his team is delighted to get Mikhael. “Speaking to coaches in U SPORTS he commands a lot of respect. He’s a real smooth operator out of the back. He’s been called up by the Lebanese national team as well so that tells you about the quality of the lad.”
