OTTAWA, Ontario – The Carleton Ravens women’s basketball has a series of events planned to support the 2020/21 edition of Shoot for the Cure, a U SPORTS fundraising initiative on behalf of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Ravens Head Coach Dani Sinclair says the entire team is getting involved this week to bring awareness to the initiative in lieu of the annual commemorative basketball game.
The team will start the week by going for a team 5k run and posting the highlights on Carleton Ravens social media. Later in the week, youth teams and clubs from the Ottawa community are invited to attend a virtual skills session, something Sinclair says the team has been conducting throughout the school year but will expand for this week. The week will cap off with a team trick shot challenge involving Ravens varsity athletes from several different teams.
Sinclair says being involved with Shoot for the Cure this year has required hard work and coordination from Ravens Basketball staff and the Athletics Varsity Council.
