It didn’t take long before Tunde Adeleke was recognized for his football ability.
On Monday, October 7 the Carleton Ravens defensive back was named the OUA’s special teams’ player of the week after his outstanding performance in the 2013 Panda Game.
Adeleke returned a missed Ottawa field goal attempt 129 yards for a Carleton touchdown; the longest possible return under current CIS football rules.
With the run, the 5’9” 165 pound first year defender tied a CIS record that is shared with two other players.
On September 11, 2009 Manitoba’s Jeremy Botelho galloped 129 yards versus Simon Fraser. Guelph’s Jedd Gardner was successful with his lengthy run against McMaster on October 8, 2010.
Adeleke, an economics major also picked up an interception and had three solo tackles in the 45th Panda Game.
