Despite the dreary playing conditions and a rain soaked turf, the Carleton Ravens had several bright spots in their OUA East soccer game against the Ryerson Rams on Saturday night.

Carleton knocked off the visiting Rams 3-1 at Ravens Field and improved their overall record to (9-2-4) and 31 points.

The point total surpasses last year’s mark of 28.

The Ravens had a bit of a scare when Ryerson took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute of play.

Carleton regrouped with goals by Veronica Mazzella (Sudbury, ON) 35th, Rozlyn Boutin (Edmonton, AB) 69th and Nicole Filipow (Edmonton, AB) 88th.

“In the first half our offensive play was a bit off but we focused on our passing accuracy in the final frame and it paid off with some quality chances and goals,” said Alex McNutt, Ravens head coach.

The Ravens close out their regular season on Sunday, October 20 against Toronto. Game time at Ravens Field is 1:00PM.
