The Ravens took advantage of 40 points in the paint and an 11-point second chance points differential as they quieted the Blues offence. One night after the Blues got hot from downtown, it looked as though Carleton may be in for another battle when the Blues hit seven first-half threes. Playing without Alain Louis for the second straight night, the Ravens settled into their new roles in the second half, limiting the Blues to 3 deep balls and only 24 points in the second half.
Ravens big man Biniam Ghebrekidan had a strong performance. After getting the Ravens scoring started in the first quarter, Ghebrekidan scored 19 points while cleaning 13 rebounds, including 8 in the defensive end. Ghebrekidan has now scored double-digit points in eight of eleven games on the season including five consecutive games since the pause.
In Louis' absence, Raven Cordell Veira played over 26 minutes scoring 14 points and collecting 7 rebounds. Those 14 points are a season-high for Veira who has played in five straight games for the Ravens since the break.
With the win, the Ravens improve to 11-0 with three games left on the schedule. The Ravens will have a short window to prepare for their next game. They travel to uOttawa on Wednesday night for a Bytown Battle with the Gee-Gees.
