The Department of Recreation and Athletics provides an exceptional environment for student-athletes to excel in both the classroom and on the field of play. Highly qualified coaches and first-class facilities, along with the ability to compete in U SPORTS and/or Ontario University Athletics (OUA) or Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ), provide student-athletes with an exceptional competitive experience.

In addition, the support from Academic Advisors through the University’s Academic Advising Centre as well as team study halls, mentors and tutorial support provide student-athletes the assistance to excel in the classroom as they transition from high school to university life.
Further, the department provides outstanding sports medicine support with dedicated team physicians and therapists to ensure our student-athletes remain healthy.
The Department does offer Athletic Scholarships to those identified by the Head Coaches as team members and those that meet the academic requirements of the OUA. The amount of the Athletic Scholarship can range to a maximum of $4,000 per academic year per student-athlete.
We encourage prospective student-athletes to contact the Head Coach of the varsity team you are interested directly in to receive more information about the program and the commitments required.
